Research Incentives
Seed Funding
Presentation
The Seed Funding programme was created by ILIND with the aim of supporting and rewarding activities and projects that reinforce interdisciplinarity and cross-fertilisation between different areas of knowledge.
The aim of this call for proposals is to stimulate the development of research activities and excellence among researchers from the Research and Development Units of Ensino Lusófona, funded by the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology).
The competition is intended to fund innovative projects, preferably with a strong interdisciplinary component in any area of knowledge that could result in larger-scale projects to be submitted for funding from other organisations.
Funded Projects
The following Research Centers funded by FCT are eligible to participate in the call for proposals set out in these regulations:
- CBIOS (Research Center for Biosciences & Health Technologies);
- CeiED (Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development);
- CICANT (Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies);
- COPELABS (People-Centered Computing and Cognition Research Center);
- HEI-Lab (Digital Laboratories for Environments and Human Interactions).
Financing Amounts and Eligible Expenditure
The maximum amount for funding purposes is 15,000€ per Research Center.
The projects that achieve the highest score in the evaluation will be selected, up to the limit of the amount allocated to the programme, which is 15,000€.
Eligible project expenditure is considered duly justified:
- Missions, meetings and trips;
- Registration for congresses and scientific events as speakers;
- Research grants for student researchers (undergraduate, master's and/or doctoral students at Ensino Lusófona HEIs);
- Exemption or reduction of tuition fees for student researchers (undergraduate, master's and/or doctoral students at Ensino Lusófona HEIs);
- Translation and revision for publication purposes;
- Costs of publishing scientific articles, within the scope of the project, in international scientific journals, with peer review, Q1 or Q2;
- Laboratory reagents and consumables;
- Equipment, provided it is duly justified and covered, after verification by the PMO that these resources do not exist, and provided they do not exceed 10 per cent of the total funding requested.
