Lusófona University submits 43 applications to FCT call

FCT's (Foundation for Science and Technology) annual call for Projects in All Scientific Fields seeks to increase the national and international competitiveness of science and technology, contribute to innovation and knowledge transfer, as well as to the realization of the global aspirations defined in the Agenda 2030: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

FCT, together with the Innovation and Digital Transition Program - COMPETE 2030 and the Regional Programs for the North, Centre, Lisbon, Alentejo and Algarve, is launching the Call for IC&DT Projects in All Scientific Domains 2023.

This call aims to fund and internationally recognize projects focused on research, development and innovation, which promote excellence and increase the creation of answers to business challenges.

Applications closed on March 21 and Lusófona University submitted 43 applications, 27 as coordinators and 16 as partners. The applications came from 10 Research and Development Units (R&DUs), 1 Organic Unit and 1 Lusófona Teaching Institution:

  • HEI-Lab - Digital Laboratories for Environments and Human Interactions: 10 
  • I-MVET - Veterinary Medicine Research: 6
  • CeiED - Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development: 5
  • CICANT - Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies: 5 
  • BioRG - Bioengineering and Sustainability Research Group: 3 
  • COPELABS - Center for Research in People-Centered Computing and Cognition: 3
  • CBIOS - Research Center for Biosciences & Health Technologies: 2 
  • CIDEFES - Research group in Sports behavior, Physical Education, and Exercise and Health Sciences: 2
  • CRGroup - Civil Research Group: 2 
  • IntrepidLab - Research for Business and Society: 2 
  • EPCV - Escola de Psicologia e Ciência da Vida: 1
  • ISMAT - Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes: 1
  • RCM2+ - Research Center for Industrial Engineering, Management and Sustainability: 1

The projects with the best evaluation will be funded with a maximum investment of €250,000 and a duration of 36 months.
