Lusófona University participates in 2 projects approved by Horizon Europe

Lusófona University submitted 4 applications to Horizon Europe's HORIZON-CL2-2024-TRANSFORMATIONS-01 call, 2 of which were approved.

This call, entitled A sustainable future for Europe, has the following objectives:

  • Tackle the political and legal challenges that hinder the prosperity of the social economy and the expansion of its successful activities;
  • To better integrate the role and weight of social economy organisations in the fight against social exclusion, in the creation of quality jobs, and in policy-making at various levels;
  • Contribute to improving working conditions in social economy organisations, including in the care sector.

The approved applications were submitted by CeiED (Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development) and HEI-Lab (Digital Laboratories for Human Environments and Interactions).

The European youth in education and in transition to the labour market project was submitted by the EDU-LAb consortium, in which CeiED researcher Filomena Parada participates. This project aims to analyse the factors that influence the educational choices of young people aged 15 to 30. The project involves 11 partners and has the following main objectives: to increase the rate of young people with tertiary education, to reduce the dropout rate, and to increase learning based on vocational education.

HEI-Lab researcher Tânia Gaspar is taking part in the Improving Tourism and Hospitality Worker Well-being Through Social Dialogue project, submitted by a consortium of 9 partners. This project aims to investigate the inclusion of tourism and hospitality workers, promoting a more inclusive, equitable and effective social dialogue that reflects the diverse realities of working in the sector, both at EU and national level.
