Lusófona University has become a signatory to the European Commission’s Pact for Skills

Lusófona University is now a signatory to the Pact for Skills, a European Commission initiative that brings together organizations committed to strengthening and modernizing skills in Europe.

The Pact for Skills aims to support public and private organizations in promoting upskilling and reskilling, enabling them to respond more effectively to the green and digital transitions. This is the first flagship initiative under the European Skills Agenda, anchored in the European Pillar of Social Rights and aligned with the European Union’s industrial and SME strategies.

With this membership, the institution joins a European network of partners from the education, research, business, and public sectors, focused on developing training and capacity-building initiatives aligned with current economic and social transformation needs.

Participation in the Pact for Skills provides access to a structured European ecosystem of cooperation, facilitating the development of joint projects, the creation of strategic partnerships, and participation in thematic networks dedicated to priority skills areas. The initiative also provides support tools, such as knowledge hubs, networking, and guidance, which support the design and implementation of training programs tailored to the needs of the European labor market.

This integration strengthens Lusófona University’s ability to align its educational offerings and scientific activities with European priorities regarding innovation, employability, and the development of advanced skills.

Joining the Pact for Skills also strengthens the institution’s international standing, promoting greater visibility and new opportunities for collaboration on Europe-wide projects.
