Simulations and the use of KML as a tool for students

The use of KML (Knowledge Modeling Language) as an innovative pedagogical tool is at the core of GIRI-hub (Gamification in International Relations Lab), a project that explores new ways of learning in the teaching of International Relations and security through simulations and complex decision-making models.

This approach is being developed within the framework of a project coordinated by Sabrina Medeiros, in collaboration with the National Defense Institute (IDN), bringing academia closer to applied training contexts and strategic analysis.

KML makes it possible to structure and represent knowledge systematically, making decision-making processes, key actors, and political and institutional interdependencies visible in international scenarios. Integrated into simulations and serious games, this model enables participants to experiment with different strategies, evaluate consequences, and understand the complexity of international security and political contexts.
