Leading Collaborative Grant Applications: Consortia, Management, and Impact
On July 15, at 3:00 p.m., ILIND will host the session “Leadership in Collaborative Grant Applications: Consortia, Management, and Impact,” featuring Professor Micaela Fonseca as the speaker.
Building a collaborative proposal means telling a story with many voices. This session aims to demystify this process, showing how an idea - which often begins with a spark of inspiration—transforms, step by step, into a shared journey built on motivation, perseverance, communication, and shared learning. Using a “learning by doing” approach, real-world examples of proposals submitted to various European funding platforms - with consortia ranging from 7 to 44 beneficiaries - will be shared. The session will address the inherently iterative nature of these processes, in which a proposal is developed, revised, and transformed - sometimes over two weeks, other times over two months. Methods, challenges, lessons learned, and ways of working with very diverse partners will also be shared, including the definition of their roles throughout the process. The session will also address failures - perhaps the most important and least discussed aspect of these journeys - because every application is also a story of collective learning and growth.
