FCT launches the 8th edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Call

The Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has announced the opening of the 8th edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus Call (CEEC Individual), a programme designed to support the hiring of PhD researchers and strengthen scientific employment in Portugal. 

Applications will be accepted from 15 December 2025 to 29 January 2026, with host institution confirmations required by 13 February 2026. 

This call aims to fund 400 scientific employment contracts for early-career researchers, including junior and auxiliary researcher categories, with a total budget of approximately €63.5 million.

Eligible applicants include PhD holders of any nationality or stateless persons, working in any scientific area, who wish to pursue their research or technological development activity in Portugal. Applications must be submitted in English via the myFCT online platform. jornaleconomico.sapo.pt

Proposals will be evaluated based on scientific excellence by international expert panels, selecting the highest-merit applications for funding.
