Lusófona University researchers submitted 37 applications to FCT's PEX call

FCT's (Foundation for Science and Technology) annual call for Projects in All Scientific Fields seeks to increase the national and international competitiveness of science and technology, contribute to innovation and knowledge transfer, as well as to the realization of the global aspirations defined in the Agenda 2030: United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

These calls have two types of projects, one of which is the Call for Exploratory Projects in All Scientific Domains 2023 (PEX).

PEX projects are intended to fund scientific or technological research projects aimed at exploring ideas or concepts that are considered to have originality and/or innovative potential. Applications closed on March 1st, and Lusófona University submitted 37 projects from 10 different Research and Development Units:

  • CICANT - Center for Research in Applied Communication, Culture and New Technologies: 7
  • CBIOS - Center for Research in Biosciences and Health Technologies: 7
  • CeiED - Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development: 6
  • COPELABS - Center for Research in People-Centered Computing and Cognition: 5
  • HEI-Lab - Digital Laboratories for Human Environments and Interactions: 4
  • BioRG - Bioengineering and Sustainability Research Group: 2
  • CECAV - Center for Animal and Veterinary Science: 2
  • IntrepidLab - Research for business and society: 2
  • CEAD - Francisco Suárez Center for Advanced Studies in Law: 1
  • CIDEFES - Center for Research in Sport, Physical Education, Exercise and Health: 1

The projects with the best evaluations will receive national funding from the FCT budget, with a maximum of €50,000 per project.
